What it is

The Jawline Definition filler treatment creates subtle but powerful structure along the lower face — sharpening definition, improving symmetry, and softening where the jaw has lost shape or support. For some, it’s about edge and refinement. For others, it’s about restoring what’s shifted with time. In both cases, the result is meant to enhance the face’s natural framework — not overpower it.

Because the jawline plays such a central role in facial shape, this treatment often becomes the foundation for lower-face planning. We always begin with a full-face assessment and map where support is most needed now, versus what may benefit from future refinement.

How it works

We use a soft-tissue hyaluronic acid-based filler designed for structural support and flexibility. It’s injected just above the bone along the edge of the mandible, where it adds subtle volume and creates cleaner, more defined contour.

The filler acts like internal scaffolding — reinforcing areas that have softened with age or were never well-defined to begin with. Because it’s moldable, we can shape and taper it to avoid harsh angles or overbuilt bulk. Depending on your anatomy, we may place it along the angle of the jaw (near the ear), across the lateral jawline, or just before the chin — connecting the entire line for smooth proportion.

Once placed, the product integrates with surrounding tissue over 1–2 weeks. Swelling fades, and the new contour becomes softer and more natural-looking — while still visibly defined.

What to expect

  • We’ll review your facial structure, profile, and jawline motion. You don’t need to prep anything — we’ll map your features and talk through what’s possible based on your goals.

  • Treatment involves a series of small filler placements using a flexible, supportive product. You may feel light pressure or fullness as we shape. Most sessions take 30–45 minutes, depending on the amount used.

  • You may experience mild swelling or tenderness along the jawline for a few days. The area can feel slightly firm or “present” for 1–2 weeks as the product settles. Results are visible right away, with refinement as swelling fades and structure integrates.

Supporting your results

What seems like a single concern or correction often touches something else. That’s why we plan with an eye toward natural results, a balanced expression, and changes that feel right — not just in the moment, but in what they set in motion next.

We talk you through all of it before anything begins, so you know what to expect and can make clear, confident choices from the start.

Below, you’ll find treatments we may suggest you pair, sequence, or layer with this one — always with intention, and only when they help protect or guide your results.

  • When jawline definition calls for adjacent refinement, we typically turn to the following treatments:

Chin Augmentation — Adds foundational support that anchors and lengthens the lower face

Lower Face Smoothing — Neurotoxin-based softening around the DAO or chin can reduce pull and help the jawline look more defined

  • Building long-term support around the jawline isn’t just about volume — it’s also about how well the skin holds shape. Treatments that stimulate collagen or reinforce elasticity can help maintain results across time.

Radiesse or Sculptra — Strengthens collagen in the jawline’s foundation and helps prolong definition

Microneedling with Exosomes — Supports tone, texture, and elasticity between filler visits — especially helpful in areas of slackening

  • We look for ingredient combinations that reinforce structure, hydration, and density of the skin — especially across the lower face and jawline.

Daily antioxidant defense can protect against free radical damage that accelerates skin laxity, peptide-rich hydrators help maintain firmness and support the skin’s resilience in filler-treated areas, and well-formulated mineral-based SPF is the skin’s best defense against UV rays which break down collagen.

Frequently asked questions

  • Yes. This treatment isn’t just for restoring definition—it can also enhance structure you’ve never fully had. We assess your full facial proportions and design a plan that builds shape while still looking natural and integrated.

  • Not unless that’s your goal. We design with intention and balance—choosing placement that enhances harmony, not bulk. For those seeking a softer look, we focus on subtle edge and lift without adding w

  • Ideally, give yourself 2–3 weeks in advance. While most swelling resolves quickly, this buffer ensures everything settles fully and looks its best—especially in photos.

  • We start with conservative placement and assess your response together. If needed, we can fine-tune or soften results. If Restylane was used, it can also be reversed. But most clients love the balanced definition it brings.

  • Both.
A Lip Flip can be done as a standalone treatment or combined with lip filler, perioral smoothing, or other lower-face options — depending on what you’re hoping to shape or soften.

  • Over time, volume and structure shift naturally. Some clients return annually for touch-ups, while others pair with collagen support to stretch results longer. We’ll help build a plan that fits your goals.
